Shepherd's Pie

A simple classic, this one-dish meal is an easy standby.

1.5 lbs gound beef
1 onion, chopped
1 can tomato soup
1 can green beans, drained
4 large potatoes, mashed
1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet brown beef and onion; drain. Mix in green beans and tomato soup. Pour mixture into a large casserole. Cover with mashed potatoes. Top with cheese. Bake for 20 minutes.

I've never heard of this one. Our Dorey Shepherds Pie is ground beef with onion cooked up and layered in the bottom of a casserole dish, then add 2 cans of creamed corn layered over the beef, top with mashed potatoes, with small pats of butter. Cook at 350 degrees for about 1 hour, or until you see the creamed corn bubbling up on the sides of the casserole dish, and the tips of the potatoes are lightly brown. Aunt Cheryl
